CCAU Legislation

Senate Bill 1829

In 2017, CCAU was a driving force behind Senate Bill 1829 which was thought of to address the shortage of Type 04 teachers in the State of Illinois. With the leadership of then Senator Toi Hutchinson, the bill was passed through legislation and adopted in July of 2018. Click below to read the full legislation.

House Bill 141

Though House Bill 141 did not pass out of committee, with the leadership of Representative LaShawn Ford, and the overall support of CCAU members and Illinois providers alike, the State of Illinois chose to provide child care for just a $1 a month co-pay for families at or below the poverty line.
